Including Us understands that good relationships unlock success in every human enterprise involving two or more people and that 'inclusive' listening is the master key to good relationships. The principal consultant of Including Us, Dr Rod Kippax, has spent 35 years gaining a deep applied understanding of the science of listening tied to empathy, understanding and inclusive relationships, while teaching, training, completing a doctorate, being a father and partner, and being a passionate human services and sacred social justice practitioner.
At the heart of everything that Rod does is a commitment to sacred social justice, radical inclusivity and the human potential for engaging with diversity to collectively learn and solve problems together for everyone's benefit. Why Including Us
Including Us offers something very different to the usual basic advice giving about inclusion. Including Us offers a social scientific approach to inclusion that recognises that inclusion is all about having inclusive relationships. Including Us therefore takes the mystery out of inclusion by tailoring a practical road map to inclusion from the bottom up via welcoming and appreciative relationships, and from the top down through organisational structures that support these kind of inclusive relationships. Including Us also turns to social science when it come to the everyday practice of building inclusive relationships. Our approach is based on the science of conversational understanding that, once practiced, give conscious control over the micro methods of listening for understanding far beyond advice giving. In the end, this difference amounts to a scientific pathway to better understanding others regardless of their cultural background or position or way of being or seeing the world. Which in turn is the secret to intentionally translating diversity into inclusion, diversity into wicked problem solving and innovation, understanding into more effective interventions and strengthened relationships, and understanding into exceptional leadership.
